Montana Has Some of the Nation’s ‘Best’ and ‘Deadliest’ Roads

That’s according to a special report by <a href="http://www.rd.com/your-america-inspiring-people-and-stories/the-best-worst-and-deadliest-roads-in-america-the-rankings/article176005.html" title="Reader’s Digest on the safety of the nation’s highways”>Reader’s Digest on the safety of the nation’s highways. And while the dual rankings would seem to contradict each other, the magazine explains it this way:

Although Montana appears at No. 3 on the Best Roads list (good infrastructure, little congestion), it tops the Deadliest list in part because of drivers who drink, drive recklessly, or shun seat belts.

1) Kansas

5) Utah

And the states with the deadliest roads in America:

1) Montana
2) Louisiana
3) South Carolina
4) West Virginia
