Kalispell Police, SWAT Apprehend Local Fugitive

By Beacon Staff

Law enforcement officials apprehended a fugitive early Thursday morning at a local hotel, where the man had allegedly threatened to shoot anyone coming to arrest him.

The Kalispell Police Department Special Response Team, along with the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and the Northwest Drug, eventually took Christopher Kelly Ferrari, 38, into custody without incident.

Ferrari, who has been charged with multiple felonies in the past, has three arrest warrants out for him. He was located a local hotel, according to KPD patrol Capt. Tim Falkner, and when law enforcement made contact with him via a phone, he refused to come out of the room.

Ferrari also allegedly threatened to shoot anyone who entered his room, Falkner reported.

After three hours of negotiations, Ferrari abruptly decided to leave his room, and was taken into custody without incident.
