Downtown Kalispell officially has a brewery.

The Kalispell Brewing Co. opened its doors at noon Thursday on Main Street with a lineup of new locally made beers on tap.

The husband-and-wife team behind the new business — brewmaster Cole Schneider, 31, and beer ambassador Maggie Doherty, 32 — have long dreamed of starting their own brewery. It came true Thursday as they formally opened their doors and introduced the valley to their vastly renovated space in the heart of Kalispell.

The brewery has five beers on tap — Winter at Noon Dunkel, Cloudcroft IPA, Snowslip Stout and Rope Tow Pale Ale.

Doherty first worked in a brewery in Michigan when she was 16 years old and Schneider has been brewing at home for more than a decade. The two met on the slopes of Big Mountain in 2010 and were married in 2012, about the same time they purchased the brewery’s new home in downtown Kalispell.

The Beacon wrote about the new brewery last month.

Kalispell Brewing Co. is located at 412 Main St. in downtown Kalispell. For more information visit kalispellbrewing.com, or call 756-2739.
