Columbia Falls Celebrates Heritage Days

Fun events slated for annual community festival

By Beacon Staff

One of the valley’s oldest celebrations, Columbia Falls Heritage Days is this week with a full schedule of lively events. This year’s theme is “Remember When: 1960-1970,” and once again celebrates the history of Columbia Falls.

This year’s event is July 23-27, with most of the events hosted at Marantette Park. The inaugural festival, held in August 1956, was titled “Progress Days” and in recent years committee organizers have chosen themes based on decades.

One of the most significant events that occurred between 1960 and 1970 was the massive 1964 flood.
