Kalispell to Host Legion District Tournament

The top teams advance to next week’s state tournament in Helena

The legion baseball season is down to the final weeks, and teams will vie for the state tournament at the Western A District Tournament in Kalispell.

The Bitterroot Red Sox (15-5) enter as the top seed at this week’s tourney, followed by the Mission Valley Mariners (13-6), Bitterroot Bucs (13-7), Glacier Twins (10-9), Kootenai Valley Rangers (9-11), Missoula Mavs (8-12), Libby Loggers (5-15) and host Kalispell Lakers (5-15).

The Rangers take on the Twins in the tourney opener on Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Loggers play the Mariners at 1 p.m. The Mavs take on the Bucs at 4 p.m. and the Lakers play the Red Sox at 7 p.m. All games will be played at the Lakers’ complex on Airport Road. Libby won last year’s district tournament. The top teams advance to next week’s state tournament in Helena.

The AA teams are still vying for trips to the state tournament, which starts July 28 in Lethbridge.
