A 24-year-old Missoula man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday for trying to solicit nude photographs of young girls.

Kendrick Ray Kramer was given a 10-year prison sentence with an additional 10 years suspended after he pleaded guilty in Flathead County District Court to charges of sexual abuse of children earlier this summer. Kramer was also given a concurrent 10-year suspended sentence relating to a 2008 burglary for which he was on probation when he was arrested last year.

According to court documents, in 2011 and 2012, Kramer emailed and texted at least three girls ages 15 and 16, told them that he was a wedding photographer and that he was looking for models. Kramer, using the name Karen Baker, asked the girls to send nude photographs and pornographic videos to him of them “in the shower” or “doing things with (their) boyfriend.”

One of the girls living in Flathead County reported Kramer’s request to the police in late 2011. In April 2012, a detective with the Missoula Police Department reached out the Flathead County Sherriff’s Office because of an investigation he was working on about Kramer. The Missoula detective sent a subpoena to Yahoo! looking for additional information about Karen Baker’s email. The records recovered from Yahoo showed that the account holder of Baker’s email had the same birthdate as Kramer. Later the Missoula detective got a search warrant for Kramer’s home where he found multiple phones with access to the Baker email account.

Kramer was charged with three counts of sexual abuse of children in Flathead County District Court on June 19, 2013. In June 2014, Kramer took a plea deal from the county attorney where he would plead guilty and get 10 years in prison with another 10 years suspended. He also received credit for time already served.
