Democrat-Controlled Senate Blocking Bipartisan Bills

As of this writing there are more than 380 bills passed by Congress this year sent over to the Democrat-controlled Senate for passage, but sit on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's desk dead on arrival

There is nothing more irritating than reading op-ed columns that are simply untrue. Such is the case with Mike Jopek’s “Back on the Job” column (Sept. 17 Beacon) miming MSNBC and other left wing media sources with the fable that this is a “do-nothing” Congress.

Well, folks, the facts are that as of this writing there are more than 380 bills passed by Congress this year sent over to the Democrat-controlled Senate for passage, but sit on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s desk dead on arrival. Sadly, the vast majority of these bills are bipartisan with strong support from both Republicans and Democrats. The reason they are not acted upon by Reid is his fear that his majority might be held to account in this election year by revealing their votes on these issues.

Did you know also that Reid’s Democrat-controlled Senate did not produce a single budget in four years, though it is a law that the Senate must produce a budget every fiscal year? There is no one in the “Justice” Department to prosecute Reid, as our attorney general and president all act in concert with one another, with the certainty that their mainstream media friends will hide this fact from public light.

Let’s face the fact that it is only the Congress that is producing budgets, passing bills, but blocked by a Senate and president uninterested in anything but raw politics.
