Watermedia Show at Bigfork Museum

A reception for the artists will be held on Oct. 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Bigfork Museum of Art and History will present the 32nd annual show,  “Watermedia 2014,” from Oct. 3-31.

The show features 47 works from artists from around the country.

Watermedia is any media that is water based (excluding water based oils). This year, the juror for the show will be Jean Pederson, who is an AWS Signature Member, California Watercolor Master Signature Member, and holds many other prestigious affiliations.

Pederson’s traditional practice includes referential imagery of people, still life, landscape and abstraction. She has been painting for over 20 years, balancing her strong teaching abilities, and writing with her continuing aspiration to convey her ideas in visual form.

In 2005, Pederson was the first recipient of the Federation of Canadian Artists Early Achievement Award, granted for her many honors, awards, international writing to promote art education, and consistent, exceptional painting.

Pederson has exhibited her work Internationally in China, London England, Stockholm Sweden, New York – United Nations, San Francisco, Mexico and across Canada.

A reception for the artists will be held on Oct. 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with Pederson speaking at 6 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. The Museum is is located at 525 Electric Ave. For more information go to the Bigfork Museum’s website at www.bigforkmuseum.org or call 837-6927.
