Flathead Valley Community College’s international student club, Global Friends, will host a lecture presented by the Kalispell Philatelic Club in the honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

Presented by Felix Jimenez and Jesse Malone, the lecture will explore aspects of Hispanic heritage found through all of the Americas and illustrated in a vast collection of stamps reflecting the area’s linguistic, cultural and historic complexities.

Jimenez is originally from the Dominican Republic and moved to the Flathead Valley in 2008 following his retirement.

Malone is a long-time Montanan, educated at Montana State College in Bozeman.

The presentation will take place Oct. 10 at noon in the Board Room in Blake Hall on the FVCC campus. Admission to the lecture and exhibit is free and open to anyone interested.
