Columbia Falls returns with big win over Frenchtown

Glacier 59, Missoula Sentinel 7

The top-ranked team in Class AA made it look easy once again. The Wolfpack swarmed Sentinel with six different scorers and 475 yards of offense en route to its seventh win of the season.

Thomas Trefney scored three touchdowns, Logan Jones added a pair of TDs and quarterback Brady McChesney was 16 of 22 for 260 yards and three scores.

Devin Cochran, Sam McCamley and Patrick O’Connell each added touchdowns as the Wolfpack improved to 7-0. The Glacier defense limited Sentinel to 197 yards and eight first downs and intercepted four passes.

Glacier travels to Helena to play Capital (1-6) on Friday.

Bigfork 49, Plains 0

Josh Sandry scored three touchdowns, Vinny Quirk powered in a pair of TDs and the Vikings rolled past Plains in a District 7B game.

The 10th-ranked Vikings had six different players score, including Sandry, who ran 45 yards for the game’s first touchdown and then connected with Jon Landon for the second TD.  Sandry returned a punt 34 yards for his third score. Tyler Pizzola scored a safety and Kyler Oster caught a 10-yard TD pass from Landon.

Bigfork (5-1 overall, 2-0 in Western 7B) travels to Eureka (2-5, 1-1) on Friday.

Columbia Falls 41, Frenchtown 0

Ty Morgan caught 11 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns, Dakota Bridwell was 22 of 31 for 256 yards and two TDs and the Wildcats returned to the field with a big win at home.

After taking a bye week, Columbia Falls piled up 398 yards of offense while limiting conference foe Frenchtown to 161 yards. Stephen Lindsay scored a 9-yard run in the first quarter, Ike Schweikert added another TD in the second and then Morgan went on a three-score tear. Connor Bowman wrapped up the shutout with a 7-yard TD run.

Columbia Falls (5-1 overall, 1-1 in Northwestern A) hosts Libby (2-5, 0-2) at 7 p.m. on Friday. Polson defeated Libby 48-14 last week. The Pirates (3-4, 1-2) travel to Havre (2-5, 1-2 in Central A) on Friday.

Whitefish 52, Livingston 15

Luke May passed for 193 yards and three touchdowns, Jed Nagler had five catches for 92 yards and two TDs and the Bulldogs rolled past Livingston in a nonconference football game.

Chris Park scored three touchdowns for Whitefish, including a fumble return for a TD. Brian FauntLeRoy scored a 19-yard run and Haley Nicholson kicked a 23-yard field goal in the fourth quarter and converted seven extra points.

Whitefish (5-2, 2-0 in Northwestern A) travels to Frenchtown (3-4, 2-1) on Friday.

Bozeman 43, Flathead 21

The Hawks offense hit stride and the Braves struggled to keep up.

Bozeman piled up 491 yards of offense.

Flathead’s Josh McCracken rushed 17 times for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Alex Croymans caught a 78-yard TD pass from Easton Johnson for the Braves’ other score. Johnson finished 9 of 22 for 165 yards and three interceptions. Keaton Krantz had three catches for 52 yards.

Flathead (2-5) hosts Missoula Hellgate (0-7) at 7 p.m. on Friday.
