State Republican Party Appoints New Director

HELENA — The Montana Republican Party has appointed Chris Shipp as its new executive director.

Shipp served as the party’s communications director in the 2012 and 2014 elections and previously worked in the Montana legislature. He’s a graduate of Carroll College and University of Montana School of Law.

Shipp replaces Bowen Greenwood, who served as executive director for more than four years.

GOP chairman Will Deschamps says having Shipp step up is part of building a team to carry the momentum of November’s election victories into the 2016 elections.

He also thanked Greenwood for his time in the position, which he says is often a thankless one.
