Columbia Falls Snaps Bigfork’s Win Streak

Wildcats end Vikings' 31-game winning streak

BIGFORK — In a showdown between two defending state champions, the Columbia Falls Wildcats snapped the Bigfork Vikings’ 31-game win streak with a 64-43 victory on Jan. 8.

Senior Ty Morgan scored 22 points, Grant Wallace and Grant Stenger combined for 21 points and the top-ranked team in Class A improved to 7-1 overall. Jayce Fagerland added 10 points.

Senior Josh Sandry scored 20 points to lead Bigfork, the top-ranked team in Class B, which dropped to 5-1. Jonathan Landon and Ryder Trent each scored eight points and Isaac Martel added seven.

According to the MHSA, Bigfork’s 31-game streak, dating back to last season, was tied for the sixth longest in state history.
