Mark Dennehy was named the Class AA Activities Director of the Year at an annual statewide conference held in Kalispell last weekend.

Dennehy has been in charge of activities and athletics at Glacier High School since its inception in 2007. He’s also an assistant principal.

The award was delivered at the Montana Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association annual meeting in conjunction with the Montana High School Association annual meeting.

“I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Mark Dennehy for nineteen years,” said Glacier Principal Callie Langohr. “Mark Dennehy is an exemplar of outstanding personal leadership in today’s ultra complex, and not without risk, modern large high school activities environment. This evening, we acknowledge the multifaceted accomplishments of a very talented, veteran Activities Director that doesn’t do average. If his chin is out – you best be part of the solution or get out of the way quickly because it is going to get done and it is going to get done right. The Dennehy style and work ethic are legendary.”

She continued,“ When Glacier High School opened in 2007-2008, Mark officially assumed the reins as our inaugural Activities Director. From the get-go at Glacier, Mark’s creativity, inspirational leadership, and vision of excellence artfully assimilated a newly selected team of coaches into the start-up Glacier Wolfpack. In so doing, he introduced these rookies – as all of us were essentially at the time – to a new environment unencumbered by tradition but seeded by higher expectations and underwritten by a set of innovative people oriented programs.”
