John Dunnigan Hospitalized with Pancreas Infection

Singer admitted to KRMC after experiencing severe abdominal pain

By Beacon staff

Local musician John Dunnigan has been hospitalized for a serious infection in his pancreas, according to friends of the singer.

According to a website set up to keep friends and family updated on his condition, Dunnigan is at Kalispell Regional Medical Center after originally going to North Valley Hospital last week with severe abdominal pain.

Doctors found a “major infection in his pancreas” which appears to have caused a portion of the organ to die.

His condition has improved, and he is able to eat broth, the website said.

“Andrea and the boys would like to thank you for the outpouring of concern, prayers and phone calls coming in for John. They feel totally encouraged and surrounded in this time of uncertainty,” the website says.

Dunnigan is a popular singer and songwriter in the Flathead, with three decades of solo shows featuring his guitar playing and singing.

A few ways friends and fans can help:

– No one is allowed to visit John in the Hospital or call his room until Andrea gives me the all clear to post on this website. John needs his sleep to be able to recover!

– You can write him notes in response to this blog and he will get them.

– You can send cards and a huge bouquet of fufu flowers to his room at KRMC via the first floor nurses station.

– You can sign up to help the family with meals for the next month at www.TakeThemAMeal.org LOGIN: 4John

– You can make a donation to help with Johns medical expenses and give him time to recover at home without feeling like he has to get out and gig right away. I will be adding a link to this page as soon as I get the PayPal donation link hooked up with their Whitefish Credit Union Account.

– You can volunteer to help plan or play at a massive, star-studded, valley wide benefit concert and auction, by emailing me Scott Moore at [email protected]
