Flathead Falls in Playoff Basketball Games

Tiana Johnson led the Bravettes with 14 points

A pair of losses Tuesday night ended the Flathead boys and girls basketball seasons just shy of the Class AA state tournaments.

Helena Capital defeated the Braves 63-44 and Missoula Sentinel eliminated the Bravettes 68-26.

Alex Croymans and Matt Marshall each scored nine points apiece for the Flathead boys (4-17). Tyler Johnson and Cooper Barrett both chipped in five points apiece.

Keegan Syvrud scored 21 points and Capital (16-5) advanced to the Class AA state tournament in Butte, March 12-14.

In the girls game, Sentinel had four scorers in double digits and limited Flathead to eight points in the first half.

Tiana Johnson scored 14 of Flathead’s 26 points and had six rebounds. Kelsey Gillespie had eight points for the Bravettes (2-19).

Sentinel (18-3) advanced to the Class AA girls state tourney March 12-14 in Butte.

The Glacier boys and girls teams host playoff games Thursday to determine state berths.
