Glacier Girls Punch Ticket to State Tournament; Big Sky Eliminates Wolfpack Boys

Brielle Bumgarner and Taylor Salonen both scored 12 points for Wolfpack girls in big victory

Brielle Bumgarner and Taylor Salonen both scored 12 points, Nikki Krueger added 10 and the Glacier Wolfpack rolled past Missoula Hellgate 57-30 in Kalispell on Thursday night, advancing to the Class AA state tournament for the fourth season in a row.

Glacier (17-4) built a 29-19 lead at halftime and cruised in the second half of the playoff game.

Tessa Krueger added eight points, Hailee Bennett had seven and Katie Wiley had five for the Wolfpack.

Glacier advanced to the state tournament in Butte, March 12-14.

Missoula Big Sky eliminated Helena 70-57 on Thursday.

Boys

Missoula Big Sky snapped Glacier’s playoff streak on Thursday night, ending the Wolfpack’s season 47-41 in a Western AA playoff game in Kalispell.

Colin Bingham scored 13 points, Alex Simmons had 10 and the Eagles outscored the Pack 25-21 in the second half.

The loss ended Glacier’s season and snapped the streak of six consecutive playoff appearances.

Cody Norberg paced the Wolfpack (11-10) with nine points, Jaxen Hashley had eight and Truman Pisk chipped in seven.

Big Sky advances to the Class AA state tournament in Butte, March 12-14.
