Stolen Phone

8:35 a.m. A Coram woman reported that someone from the county jail attempted to call her last night, but when she found out she would be required to pay the nearly $15.00 to take the call she hung up, believing the call to be some kind of scam. She was later informed that someone she knew was in jail and had attempted to call her.

9:34 a.m. A man on Badrock Drive found evidence of explosive matter on the post that once held a viable mailbox.

10:27 a.m. A resident on Blackhammer Lane reported that his mailbox was also targeted.

11:48 a.m. A woman on Woodland Drive found her mail scattered on the road. One check was missing.

12:03 p.m. A husky and its small terrier companion were spotted crossing Highway 2 West.

12:29 p.m. Someone called from the Somers area to complain about two aggressive men on “ninja bikes.” They were not wearing helmets.

9:28 p.m. A woman called 911 from Harmony Road to report that the drunken man who stole her phone suggested that she “call the cops.”
