BILLINGS — Police in Billings are investigating a woman’s report that she fired one or two shots at an intruder who attacked her on her property.

Sgt. Pat Curry tells The Billings Gazette the woman was attacked late Tuesday when she went outside to get her purse out of her car. She says she grabbed a handgun out of her purse and fired in the man’s direction as he fled.

Curry says officers do not believe the man was shot after finding where the bullets ended up.

Curry says the woman had minor injuries, but was not taken to the hospital.
