Fine Art in Bigfork will showcase the work of two of Montana’s celebrated artists in the show “Terra Firma / Terra Formed.”

Ceramic artist Josh DeWeese and fine arts painter Sandra Dal Poggetto will show their works in the show. DeWeese is an Associate Professor of Art at Montana State University, and was also the director at the Archie Bray Foundation for Ceramic Arts in Helena.

Dal Poggetto is known for the textures in her abstract landscape paintings, using oil paints made from traditional materials like soil and plant dyes as well as burnt bone. She is one of 38 artists to be featured at the Missoula Art Museum’s prestigious ‘Triennial.”

On Aug. 1 at 11 a.m., Dal Poggetto will be at the Collage Gallery to discuss her work, specifically addressing the question “Why are these paintings considered landscapes?” The talk is free.
