The low temperatures could hit freezing Saturday and Sunday nights

By Beacon Staff

Weather experts say an arctic storm with high winds and low temperatures is expected to hit Kalispell and the rest of the region this weekend.

The National Weather Service says a cold front will arrive Saturday bringing gusts around 50 mph to the valley and a dramatic drop in temperatures. The low temperatures could hit freezing Saturday and Sunday nights.

Backcountry areas in Glacier National Park and the surrounding high country about 4,500 feet elevation could see snowfall, especially the eastern portion of the park, according to the NWS.
