Two State Prison Inmates Die Following Extended Illnesses

Montana State Prison officials say two inmates died this week following extended illnesses.

The Montana Standard reports 71-year-old Donald Richard Roeder died Wednesday and 36-year-old Ronald Dewey White Jr. died Tuesday.

White was sentenced to prison from Flathead County in December 2007 for criminal possession of dangerous drugs for a term of two years and bail jumping with a term of three years. The sentences were to be served consecutively. He was set to be released from prison Oct. 30, 2016.

Roeder was sentenced from Yellowstone County in January 2013 for sexual intercourse without consent. He received a sentence of 25 years with 17 suspended. He was set to be released from prison Sept. 23, 2019.
