Aluma Glass Gets Major Facelift in Renovation Project

By Molly Priddy

Kalispell’s oldest glass and window company, Aluma Glass, has been under new ownership since August 2014, and with the change in leadership comes a change in looks as well.

The glass company is currently undergoing a major facelift project on its First Avenue West store, which opened in 1954 under the name Aluminum Products. Last August, Bill Morton sold the business to Curtis Bartel, who gave the green light for a full-scale remodel of the showroom and the building façade.

Eric Robbins, director of operations at Aluma Glass, said the project took advantage of the City of Kalispell’s façade improvement grant program and was awarded $5,000 in matching grant funds.

“We really wanted to go back to the design look of the original era the company started, back in the 50’s,” Robbins said. “And we thought the reclaimed barn wood look mixed with the classic customer service pickup truck showed the heart of this great little company.”
