Choate Adds 2 More to MSU Football Coaching Staff

Two former Boise State football players to join his coaching staff

BOZEMAN — Montana State’s new football coach has chosen two former Boise State football players to join his coaching staff.

Jeff Choate says former Broncos receiver Matt Miller will coach the wide receivers while former linebacker Byron Hout will coach the Bobcat defensive line.

Miller graduated from Helena Capital and was Montana’s 2009 Gatorade player of the year. He holds Boise State’s career record with 244 receptions and fell just 15 yards short of breaking the team’s career receiving yards record. He also completed 3 of 6 passes for two touchdowns. Miller only played five games as a senior after suffering an ankle injury.

Choate called Miller a tremendous leader and a person of great character with deep Montana ties.

Choate says Hout is an extremely intelligent young coach with a passion for the game.
