Kalispell Ward 4 Councilors to Host Monthly Town Halls

The town hall meetings are open to the public and attendees do not need to live in Ward 4

Another pair of Kalispell city councilors are going to start holding monthly town hall meetings to gather input and discuss ideas with community members.

Tim Kluesner and Phil Guiffrida, who both represent Ward 4 on the city council, will host meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. inside city hall.

The town hall meetings are open to the public and attendees do not need to live in Ward 4.

The meetings are the second to emerge in recent months.

Ward 3 council members Jim Atkinson and Rod Kuntz have been holding informal town hall meetings once a month since August. Unlike a regular city council meeting in which Roberts Rules of Order must prevail, the town hall format allows for easy dialogue among participants and council members, city officials say. Issues can be raised by anyone, questions asked, and ideas vetted by all. The Ward 3 town hall meetings occur on the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.

An agenda will not be provided at either meeting to allow any relevant community topic to be discussed.

Ward 3 encompasses much of downtown and extends west into the Foys Lake area. Ward 4 includes south Kalispell, with 10th Street marking the northern boundary of the ward.

Kalispell City Hall is located at 201 First Avenue East next to the ImagineIf Library. Town hall meetings will be held at City Hall in the Council Chambers.
