Backcountry Film Festival Comes to Whitefish

The event celebrates human-powered winter recreation through nine short films

By Beacon Staff

Join the Montana Wilderness Association to get stoked on human-powered winter recreation through nine short films from around the world. Exclusive to the Backcountry Film Festival Whitefish showing are guest speakers Martha Hunt (of Whitefish) and KT Miller (of Bozeman), who will share stories from the making of their film, “Shifting Ice.” In March of 2014, Hunt, Miller and four other women set out on an unprecedented Arctic journey.

The event is at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. Tickets are on sale now at Rocky Mountain Outfitter, Runner-Up Sports and Great Northern Brewing Company. Tickets are $5 presale and $10 at the door.
