State Hoops: Choteau Caps Second Perfect Season in Class B Final

Bigfork finished a remarkable season of its own with a 24-2 record

Bigfork fought hard but could not stop Choteau’s perfect streak.

Dylan Pannabecker scored 27 points, Derrek Durocher had 19 and the Choteau Bulldogs defeated the Bigfork Vikings 67-59 in Saturday night’s Class B state basketball championship game in Butte.

The Bulldogs captured their second title in a row and completed a perfect 26-0 season for the second year in a row. Saturday night’s victory was Choteau’s 52nd in a row dating back to last season, when the Bulldogs also finished 26-0.

Adam Jordt paced Bigfork with 18 points, Jonathan Landon had 12 and Anders Epperly chipped in nine for Bigfork, which finished a remarkable season of its own with a 24-2 record.

George Gibson had eight points, Joseph Potkonjak added seven and Garrett Beville had three for the Vikes. Logan Taylor chipped in two.

Broadwater defeated Jefferson 48-46 in double overtime in the consolation final.

In the girls state final, Malta defeated Fairfield 49-47 on Saturday night to win its second title in a row.
