Senators Steve Daines and Jon Tester and Representative Ryan Zinke congratulated Polson High School senior Nathan Young on his appointment to the United States Air Force Academy.

Young was nominated to the academy by the entire Montana Congressional delegation.

Young is a senior at Polson High School and the student government vice president. He is also captain of his Lacrosse team and an Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts of America. Young volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, he’s the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Huddle Leader, Chairman of Fundraising for his National Honor Society Chapter and participated in a mission trip to the Ukraine.

“Nathan Young has proved himself to be hardworking student who is excelling both inside and outside of the classroom,” Daines stated. “I’m proud to congratulate Nathan on his extensive accomplishments and I’m looking forward to watching him become a future leader in the U.S. Air Force.”

“I am confident that Nathan will make our state proud, and I thank him for his willingness to serve our nation,” Tester said.  “Nathan is a gifted leader and he is joining the long list of Montanans who have willingly signed up to serve in the armed forces and protect the freedoms we all enjoy.”

“Bravo zulu to Nathan Young for his appointment to the Air Force Academy after years of hard work and success,” said Rep. Zinke. “Nominating Montana’s future leaders for our military academies is one of the biggest honors I have as a Congressman.”

The U.S. Air Force Academy is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
