The pilot of a helicopter survived a crash in the Yellow Bay area on Saturday.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said the crash was reported around 2:#0 p.m., July 9. Sheriff’s officers responded and found the commercial helicopter occupied with the uninjured pilot. An initial investigation determined the helicopter made contact with a nearby power line, which caused the crash. The pilot was able to maneuver the aircraft down after making contact with the power line, Bell said.

The Federal Aviation Administration will be further investigating the incident.
