Kalispell’s Porch Wins Montana State Amateur Golf Title

Kalispell’s Ryan Porch cruised to a dominating victory in the Montana State Amateur Golf Championship last weekend in Laurel.

Porch, a 2013 Glacier High School graduate, carded 68-66-73 — 207 to win by nine strokes at the 99th annual tournament. The victory ended a streak of back-to-back runner-up finishes for the Kalispell standout. The University of Idaho standout was the lone golfer to finish the tournament under par.

Tyler Jessop of Corvallis and Jim Coleman of Billings tied for second at even par 216. Mark Mance of Whitefish and Jerry Pearsall of Billings tied for fourth at 3-over 219.

Kalispell native Logan Iverson tied for 13th with 227. Conor Rooney of Whitefish tied for 17th with 228. Joe Cielak of Libby placed 19th with 229. Whitefish’s Shawn Tucker tied for 22nd with 232.
