The alpine section of Glacier National Park’s Going-to-the-Sun Road is open again Wednesday after snow caused a closure earlier in the day.

The National Park Service announced on Twitter that the road was closed from Big Bend to Logan Pass on the west side, but it was reopened by the afternoon.

The National Weather Service has forecasted 1 to 2 inches of snow for that part of Glacier National Park today, with flurries expected to last throughout the week.

The iconic alpine highway through Glacier Park is usually open from June until October. Officials expect the entire 52-mile road from West Glacier to St. Mary to remain open until the middle of this month, depending on weather.
