For the second time in a week, Glacier National Park officials have closed the Going-to-the-Sun Road due to snow.

The National Park Service announced on Twitter Friday afternoon that the road was closed from Big Bend to Logan Pass on the west side. The closure was later extended east to Siyeh Bend.

The National Weather Service was predicting an inch of snow in that part of Glacier Park for this afternoon.

The iconic alpine highway through Glacier Park is usually open from June until October. Officials expect the entire 52-mile road from West Glacier to St. Mary to remain open until the middle of this month, depending on weather.
