Columbia Falls Boys Lock Down First Conference Soccer Title in 11 Years

The Wildcats (10-1-1 overall, 6-0 in conference) will host a first-round playoff match on Saturday

With a 5-3 victory over Libby, the Columbia Falls boys soccer team capped a perfect conference season and won the Northern A title for the first time in 11 years.

The Wildcats (10-1-1 overall, 6-0 in conference) locked up the conference championship and a No. 1 seed in the Class A state playoffs, which begin this week.

Columbia Falls will host Laurel (4-7-1), the No. 3 seed from Eastern A, on Saturday, Oct. 15. The game will begin at 2 p.m.

Polson (6-4, 3-3), the No. 2 team in Northern A, travels to Corvallis (12-0), the top team from Southern A and defending state champs, to play on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Whitefish (4-7) locked up the No. 3 spot in Northern A and will travel to Billings Central (10-2) to play on Saturday.

Loyola (4-6-1) square off against Hamilton (3-6-2) in a play-in game on Oct. 11. The winner will play at Belgrade (10-2) on Saturday.

Columbia Falls has outscored opponents 40-15 this season and is chasing its first state title since 2005, the last time the team won the conference.
