Tiana Johnson, a senior standout at Flathead High School, plans to sign a national letter of intent on Nov. 9 to play basketball at Sacramento State University.
Johnson, a 6-foot-1 wing, averaged 14 points and six rebounds a game last season as a junior. She was Flathead’s leading scorer in all but two of the team’s 21 games, and scored a season-high 23 points against Helena.
Sacramento State competes in the Big Sky Conference, which means Johnson will return to Montana a few times during the season to play the Lady Griz and Montana State Bobcats.
Tiana is the latest Johnson to move on to the Division I ranks from Kalispell. Kwyn Johnson, a 2013 Flathead grad, is a redshirt junior playing volleyball at Arizona State University.
Nov. 9 is the early signing period for prospective college athletes. Glacier senior Nikki Krueger has committed to playing volleyball at Carroll College in Helena.
