Jumping Jacks

7:58 a.m. A woman was doing jumping jacks and yelling “help me” in the middle of the road.

8:27 a.m. Four alpacas were killed in the middle of the night near Bigfork. A local mountain lion is the primary suspect.

9:50 a.m. Mailboxes were pried open in Whitefish, and letters and packages were strewn about the neighborhood.

10:27 a.m. A Bigfork innkeeper called to report that a transient had apparently spent the last three nights at her establishment without paying.

10:41 a.m. A 911 hang-up was recorded from a Kalispell home. When dispatch called back to make sure everything was okay, a young child picked up the phone and said she was with her sister and grandfather. The dispatcher then talked to the grandfather who said everything was fine, although the 9-year-old “is a little out of control.”

11:10 a.m. A Bigfork woman called to report that there was a dead deer in her yard. She was particularly concerned because the animal appeared to be foaming at the mouth. The woman believed it might be “rabid” because the night before it stared at her through a window and started to stomp its feet.

12:02 p.m. A Missoula woman called to report that someone had stolen her phone the previous night, and by utilizing the Find My Phone app, she could see that the culprit lived somewhere in Kalispell.

12:40 p.m. A Kalispell resident called to report that an aluminum boat had floated up to the property. It was filled with water and had not sunk. The citizen said the vessel would be there until the owner could be found.

2:18 p.m. Two Bigfork boys were shooting a dog with a rubber-dart gun. A sheriff’s deputy told the boys they shouldn’t do that and that the incident would be reported to their parents.

2:47 p.m. A Columbia Falls man was screamed at by another driver for talking on his phone.

5:49 p.m. A Whitefish baby called 911.

6:02 p.m. An Indiana fire department called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report that during a training exercise where they cut up a motor vehicle, they found a wallet belonging to a Montana man. The firefighters wanted to know how to get the wallet back to the man.

11:52 p.m. A Glacier Park International Airport employee called law enforcement to report that someone was pointing a green laser at an incoming plane. The employee wanted law enforcement to find the person and tell them to knock it off.
