Barry Beach Posts Bond After Arrest for Probation Violation

Beach reportedly violated a temporary restraining order from mother of his 4-year-old son

BILLINGS — A Billings man who was charged last week with violating the terms of his probation has been released from the Yellowstone County jail after posting bond.
Barry Beach was arrested on Nov. 9 for reportedly violating a temporary restraining order filed by the mother of a 4-year-old boy that Beach said he recently learned he fathered while he was briefly released from prison in 2011.

Beach was granted clemency last November after serving more than 30 years for a 1979 murder in Poplar he said he did not commit.

State officials last week said they planned to file a complaint in Roosevelt County alleging Beach violated his probation by violating the restraining order. A District Court hearing is set for Friday in Plentywood.

Beach’s attorney tells KULR-TV that the case boils down to a custody issue.
