Kiska’s Southern Kitchen has moved into the Loading Dock building on East Center Street in Kalispell.

The restaurant, which boasts southern foods made from scratch, used to serve patrons in Bigfork as Kiska’s By The Lake. Ownership moved the restaurant to Kalispell, and opened their doors to customers on Dec. 5.

Manager Jory Monroe said the move to Kalispell will allow the restaurant more expansion opportunities.

“We just wanted more year-round exposure,” he said, “and a little more room for growth.”

In a move to be healthier and keep the restaurant cleaner, Monroe said they decided to get rid of their fryers. Also, the menu has expanded to include all types of Southern food, Monroe said, not just those found in Texas and Louisiana. This will include New Mexican cuisine, along with Cuban-inspired dishes.
