Company Eyes CFAC Site for Large-Scale Manufacturing Plant
Company officials from a leading transformer manufacturer in Brazil visited Columbia Falls on Monday to consider options for establishing a manufacturing plant locally and are casting a keen eye toward the former site of the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company.
According to Andy Techmanski, if the development comes to fruition it would add 1,000 jobs to the Flathead Valley.
Concerns Over ‘Vague’ Language, Potential Costs of Marsy’s Law
After the official Dec. 5 certification of a ballot initiative called “Marsy’s law,” judges, attorneys, and other local officials in the Flathead Valley and across the state have voiced concerns about “vague” language in the constitutional amendment and potential costs that they say may make it hard to successfully implement.
Zinke Meets with President-elect at Trump Tower
Montana Rep. Ryan Zinke visited Trump Tower in New York for a meeting with the president-elect on Dec. 12.
The Republican lawmaker was an early supporter of Donald Trump during the election and has expressed interest in a cabinet post. He’s also considering a 2018 challenge to Montana Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Tester.
