A 32-year-old man pleaded not guilty to charges of felony criminal endangerment and possession of dangerous drugs after allegedly leading police on a high speed chase through Kalispell last month.

Ernest Pattee appeared in Flathead County District Court on March 30 before Judge Heidi Ulbricht.

According to the Kalispell Police Department, law enforcement received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot on March 19. Responding officers located the vehicle, which had been reported stolen the previous day, and found a male and female inside. Police asked the couple to exit the vehicle but only the female complied. The male then drove off, leading police on a chase all the way to Kila, where Pattee ditched the vehicle and fled on foot. Pattee was found two hours later in a creek.

Pattee is set to stand trial later this year.
