The Whitefish City limits’ sales represented 11.5 percent of the overall Flathead residential market in 2016 with 194 home sales. This is a 39.6 percent increase in the number of sales from what it was in 2015.
In January, there were 126 homes that were on the market within the city limits compared to 142 in January of 2016. With 126 current listings, this represents 7.8 months of inventory compared to 6.1 months of inventory in Flathead County. Last year at the same time there was 12.3 months inventory in Whitefish.
In 2016, there was only one foreclosure and no short sales in Whitefish.
The inventory of listings is low and the Whitefish market appears to be relatively strong in 2017.
