Rising country star Dustin Lynch will perform at this summer’s Northwest Montana Fair and Rodeo.

This year’s fair is scheduled for Aug. 16-20 at the Flathead County Fairgrounds with a theme of “Celebrate!”  Lynch will perform on Aug. 16. Tickets for the concert and all other grandstand events are now available for purchase at the fairgrounds office and on the fair’s website.

Traditional country music fans have compared Lynch to George Straight because of his classical skills, yet he is also immensely popular with young fans who appreciate how he combines traditional influences with an edgy intensity, placing him at the vanguard of today’s contemporary country scene.

Lynch’s self-titled debut hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart in 2012. The album’s lead single, “Cowboys and Angels,” exceeded platinum sales status and became a modern-day country classic, ending the year as one Billboard’s Top 5 Country Songs of 2012. His second album included hits “Hell of a Night” and “Where It’s At.” The first single from Lynch’s soon-to-be-released third album, “Seein’ Red,” has earned the up-and-comer further acclaim.

A native of Tennessee, Lynch has opened for stars including Keith Urban and Luke Bryan. He was praised in Rolling Stone Country’s “The Best Things We Saw at CMA Music Fest 2014” and Rolling Stone’s 2013 Best of Rock Issue, named Elle’s “Best New Country Music Artist of 2013” and picked for both People Country and U.S. Weekly’s “2014 Sexiest Men of Country.”

General admission tickets for children ages six to 12 are $20, and children ages five and under are seated free of charge in the general admission area.
