When you live in Montana, just about any day is a good day to hit the public trails. But June 3 is especially worthy; it’s National Trails Day.

Lace up your shoes and celebrate the vast network of public trails in this corner of the state or help out with crews maintaining them.

Join Montana Conservation Corps in clearing and improving sections along The Whitefish Trail, Herron Park, Lone Pine State Park, and Foys to Blacktail trails.  Volunteers are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Work gloves, a rain jacket, sunscreen, and snacks are also encouraged. Lunch will be provided.

For folks in the Kalispell area:

WHEN: Saturday, June 3, 8:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.

WHERE: Meet at the north end of Foy’s Lake parking lot at 8:30 a.m.

For folks in the Whitefish area:

WHEN: Saturday, June 3, 9 a.m.- 12 p.m.

WHERE: Meet at the Lion Mountain Trailhead at 9 a.m.
