One of Columbia Falls’ main-street businesses has changed hands and closed doors now that Mick Ruis has purchased The Bandit Bar and Saloon on Nucleus Avenue.

The purchase is part of Ruis’ larger plan to revitalize some businesses in the town. He already built and sold the Cedar Creek Lodge, and now plans to turn The Bandit into a sports bar with a connecting steakhouse.

“I’m shutting it down and opening it up hopefully within three months,” Ruis said.

Along with the sports bar and steakhouse, Ruis plans to build apartments in downtown Columbia Falls. He said the names of the new businesses aren’t concrete yet, but he’s excited to get moving on the project.

“It’s really cool,” Ruis said. “I can’t wait.”
