Sheriff IDs Body Found in Flathead River

Kassy Lynn Browning had been reported missing by her family since June 10

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office has identified the body found in the Flathead River on June 20 as a missing Hungry Horse woman.

Kassy Lynn Browning’s family reported her missing from the Hungry Horse area on June 10. The cause of the 68-year-old woman’s death is still pending, the sheriff said.

This is the third body that has been pulled from the Flathead River this spring and early summer.

The body of Anthony Walthers was discovered on May 29. Authorities say Walthers was the victim of an April 26 homicide. The body of Dacia Finch of Kalispell was also found last month in the river near the Sportsman’s Bridge. The crime lab determined the cause of death to be drowning.
