On Aug. 8 – 14, the Glacier Symphony and Chorale hosted Festival Amadeus at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center. The event is a celebration of classical music inspired by the work of Mozart. Among the highlights was a performance by renowned pianist Misuzu Tanaka. Justin Franz | Flathead Beacon

What better way to spend a summer evening than by sitting on the rolling lawn of Rebecca Farm, drinking an ice-cold beverage and listening to the Glacier Symphony perform songs from your favorite movies? This year’s concert is themed “Drive-In Music” and will feature classics from Star Wars, ET, Hook, Bugs Bunny, Pink Panther and the Wild Wild West. The orchestra will also play music by Brahms, Grieg, Rossini and Offenbach and throw a few patriotic songs into the mix. Movie character costumes are highly encouraged.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnics, blankets and lawn furniture, although gourmet and barbecue food will also be available for purchase. Picnic tables can be reserved near the stage for groups of eight for $200 each, or further back for smaller groups for $100 each. Concertgoers can enter Rebecca Farm by car or by bike; car passes cost $30 in advance and $40 the day of the concert. Bikes are $5 per entry.

Summer Pops will take place on July 7 and 8. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert starts promptly at 7:30 p.m. both nights. Car passes can be purchased online at www.gscmusic.org or by phone at (406) 407-7000.
