Body of Missing Kayaker Recovered from Montana River

Sheriff says the kayaker was reported missing at about 2:15 p.m. Monday

BILLINGS — Officials in south-central Montana have recovered the body of a man who went missing after falling out of his kayak in Rock Creek, southwest of Red Lodge.

Carbon County Sheriff Josh McQuillan says the kayaker was reported missing at about 2:15 p.m. Monday.

KULR-TV had a reporter on the scene when volunteers and searchers pulled the man’s body from debris in the middle of the creek at about 9 a.m. Tuesday. Red Lodge Fire and Rescue said volunteer searchers spotted the man’s body at about 7:30 a.m.

The man’s name has not been released.
