Great Fish Challenge Fundraising Campaign Launches

The event, led by the Whitefish Community Foundation, collects gifts and passes along 100 percent of the contribution

The 2017 Great Fish Challenge is officially underway. The innovative fundraising campaign began July 20 and runs through Sept. 15, raising funds for a variety of local nonprofit organizations.

The event, led by the Whitefish Community Foundation, collects gifts and passes along 100 percent of the contribution to the organization of your choice. This year there are 45 local nonprofits involved. Eligible nonprofits receive matching funds, based on the final match percentage, and must raise a minimum of $5,000. Challengers are donors who give to the match fund and provide the backbone of the fundraising campaign. Each challenge gift will help the Whitefish Community Foundation match each gift that is made through the Great Fish Community Challenge. So far the match fund has received more than $200,000.

Over the last two years, the Great Fish Challenge has raised more than $2.6 million for local nonprofits.
