U.S. Sens. Steve Daines and Jon Tester announced $5,024,695.00 in critical funding for four Montana airports, including $2 million for Glacier Park International Airport in Kalispell.

“Montana airports play a critical role in our communities,” Daines stated in a press release. “This funding will make a big difference in keeping our airports in good shape for current and future use.”

The senators helped secure the funding to maintain Montana’s aviation infrastructure, working with the Federal Aviation Administration to expedite the grants.

The funding will be used to purchase a new chasis for the airport’s snow-removal truck and pull-behind broom to clear the airfield in adverse weather conditions. It will also fund overlay rehabilitation of 17,640 yards of the existing general aviation apron, the reconstruction of 560 square yards of pavement, and the purchase of seven sets of protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus.
