Morley, Perrin Finish Third at Simplot Games

Prestigious indoor track event attracts more than 2,000 competitors annually

Local runners Ben Perrin and Bryn Morley both earned third-place finishes at the 40th annual Simplot Games, Feb. 17 at Idaho State University.

The prestigious indoor event regularly attracts some of the best high school talent from the West, and Perrin and Morley stood out in a field of more than 2,200 competitors.

Perrin, a junior at Flathead, was third in the 3,200-meter finals, finishing in 9:26.13. Utah native Ryan Raff won the race in 9:04.94.

Bigfork’s Morley, who is a senior and three-time Class B state cross-country champion, raced in the 1,600 and finished third, just five seconds behind the race winner, Sadie Sargent (4:52.65). Morley’s finals time was 4:58.55.
