The campground is open from mid-May through Oct. 1

Take the road less traveled and visit Tally Lake just west of Whitefish. The lake is about 20 miles from town and offers swimming, hiking, campsites, and horseback riding and biking trails.

Tally Lake Campground is located on the north shore of the lake and offers 40 campsites for tent and RV camping.

The campground has all the essentials with a boat ramp, open-air pavilion, beaches, volleyball court, and campfire rings. There are also kayak and paddleboard rentals on site.

Tally Lake is the second deepest lake in Montana at 445 feet deep and is surrounded by the Flathead National Forest. The dock at the campground provides the perfect place to fish fir a trout, northern pike, and kokanee salmon.

The campground is open from mid-May through Oct. 1.
