AIRFARE
U.S. air ticket prices continue to rise, with the average ticket costing $509.15 for a round-trip, including taxes, for the first six months of the year. That’s up $14 from the same time in 2013.
BRADY
James S. Brady, the White House press secretary who was wounded in an assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan in 1981 and became a leader in the movement to get tighter gun regulations, died on Aug. 4. He was 73.
Kalispell students will be able to study elementary education through the University of Montana this fall

tional opportunities, Flathead Valley Community College will start offering students bachelor of arts degrees from the University of Montana while study- ing locally.
FVCC recently announced the partnership, hailing it as a win-win for FVCC, UM and local students. The new completion program will allow
enrollees to pursue a four-year elemen- tary education degree from Kalispell, and the transition will be seamless, according to FVCC’s president.
“This partnership provides mem- bers of our community a new affordable opportunity to pursue their dreams of becoming teachers while still balanc- ing family and work,” said FVCC presi- dent Jane Karas. “We appreciate this
